Fred Zimmerman passed away peacefully at the General Hospital with his wife by his side on Friday, January 4, 2002 at the age of 66 years. Loving husband of Theresa. Dear step-father of Eva Charsley (Barry) of Wawa and Geoffrey Orlowski (Heather) of Keswick. Proud grandpa of Lorraine and Andrea Orlowski. He will be sadly missed by his sister Nola Pallot (Ray). Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Irja Zimmerman. Over the years, Fred had been active in junior B hockey, town council and the school board. He founded and managed CJWA Radio Station in Wawa for 25 years and was well-known for his radio voice. He was also a former news broadcaster in Sault Ste. Marie. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, Jan 9 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
