Human remains found inside burning vehicle east of Sudbury; police investigating

MARKSTAY-WARREN, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after human remains were discovered inside a burning vehicle in a town east of Sudbury.

Police say officers and members of the Stinson Fire Department were called to the fire on Kukagami Lake Road in Markstay-Warren, on Sunday afternoon.

The town is located about five kilometres north of Highway 17.

The identity of the person found inside the vehicle has not been released.

The Ontario Fire Marshall, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the provincial police are investigating the incident.

Authorities say there will be a large police presence in the area.
