Montreal police probe links between violent deaths of two Montreal seniors

Montreal homicide investigators are trying to determine whether the violent deaths of two seniors in different parts of the city are connected.

Police say an 80-year-old man found badly injured Thursday morning in a building in the Montreal's Notre-Dame-de-Grace neighbourhood died in hospital overnight.

His death has been ruled a homicide, the 12th on the island of Montreal this year.

The investigation led police to an address in the city's Ahuntsic neighbourhood, about 10 kilometres to the north.

Early this morning, they found the body of a 68-year-old man who had suffered serious injuries to his head and was declared dead at the scene.

Neither man was known to police, who are continuing their investigation.
