Toronto police investigate deadly shooting of 23-year-old Brampton man

TORONTO — Police in Toronto say they are investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old Brampton, Ont., man dead on Monday night.

The force says gunshots were heard in a north Toronto neighbourhood and a vehicle was seen speeding away from the area. 

Toronto police say Michael Opong Berchie was found suffering from gunshot wounds while in a vehicle with another person.

They say he was taken to a trauma centre where he was pronounced dead. 

Police say two people were seen leaving the scene of the shooting in a SUV. 

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.
