A Sault resident is facing charges after several calls to police Sunday about an intoxicated man at a ball field in Elliot Lake.
The East Algoma Ontario Provincial say they were called by numerous people at a Pearson Drive ball field, who stated there was an intoxicated male who was being "very disruptive and causing a disturbance".
The man was spoken to and was displaying obvious signs of intoxication, police said in a news release.
"He was also very uncooperative and confrontational with police," the OPP said.
"When politely asked to leave, the male was argumentative and physical with police," the OPP added. "After a short confrontation, the male was safely arrested and removed form the area."
Terence Elliott, 35, of Sault Ste. Marie was charged with resisting a peace officer and being intoxicated in a public place.
He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Aug. 15.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Elliott is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
