ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE

On Dec. 18, 2019 at approximately 1:15 p.m. members from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police Detachment were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Highway 638, Macdonald Township, Ontario.
Officers stopped a vehicle at the R.I.D.E. check and as a result of further investigation, Joshua Szabo, 35 years old from Echo Bay, Ontario was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration - 80 plus, contrary to section 320.14(1)(B) of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place, contrary to section 31(2) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA),
- Fail to surrender insurance card, contrary to section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 20, 2020 located at 426 Queen Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
