(Blind River, Ont.) August 24, 2007 police received a call regarding a male using a paint ball gun to fire at patrons leaving a licensed establishment in Blind River.

Charged with the following is Andrew Donald JACQUES (20) of Blind River.

• Assault with a Weapon
• Breach of Probation Order

JACQUES is scheduled to appear in court on November 1st, 2007.

INVESTIGATION OF SUSPICIOUS FOREST FIRES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP with the assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Elliot Lake Fire Service are currently investigating three (3) suspicious bush fires at the following locations:
o Behind Hector Lake
o Behind Esten Lake near the Power Line
o Close to the Ski Hill

All above locations are near the ATV/Snowmobile trail. All fires have occurred in the last two weeks.

THEFT OF OUTBOARD MOTOR

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On August 23, 2007 the victim contacted the East Algoma OPP to report the theft of an outboard motor. Police learned that sometime during the evening of August 22, 2007 and the morning of August 23, 2007 unknown person(s) attended the parking lot at 23 Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake and stole a 9.9 horsepower Honda outboard motor and gas can that were located in a parked aluminum boat.

The value of the motor is $2,900.00.

Attempted Theft of Building Products

On August 23 at around 5:00 p.m. a green car pulling a trailer stopped at a construction site on a Bye Side Road and attempted to make off with building material stacked in the front yard. The suspect was scared off by a neighbor. This type of theft at construction sites is very common. The public’s assistance is required to stop and apprehend persons responsible.
