MALE CHARGED WITH POINTING A FIREARM (Aweres Twp., ON) – At approximately 3:10 pm on December 13, 2012 Sault Ste. Marie OPP received a 911 call to attend Pruce’s Hotel parking lot regarding a male pointing a firearm.

MALE CHARGED WITH POINTING A FIREARM

(Aweres Twp., ON) At approximately 3:10 pm on December 13, 2012 Sault Ste. Marie OPP received a 911 call to attend Pruce’s Hotel parking lot regarding a male pointing a firearm.

Upon OPP arrival, investigation revealed that there had been a verbal altercation between two males in the parking lot.

One of the males entered a room in the Hotel and returned outside with a .22 calibre bolt action rifle. 

The male then (allegedly) threatened to kill the other male and pointed the firearm at him.

The victim ran to an adjacent home and called Police.

Fifty-nine year old Ghislain Real LEBEL of 884 Highway 17, Aweres Township was arrested without incident and charged with Uttering Threats, Pointing a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today.

OPP STUFF-A-CRUISER EVENT AT ROME’S

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON)  With Christmas almost a week away, the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary Unit will be conducting a Stuff-A-Cruiser event at Rome’s Independent Grocer on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

The event is being held to meet the needs of the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen over the Christmas season.

OPP cruisers will be parked at Rome’s parking lot between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to collect food items for those in need.

Every person who donates will receive a ballot for a draw for a $100.00 gift certificate courtesy of Rome’s Independent Grocer.

We live in a very giving community; let’s make the 7th annual stuff-a-cruiser event the best one yet!
