On Feb. 7 at approximately 2:50 p.m. a member of the Ontario Provincial Police Sault Ste. Marie detachment stopped a vehicle on Highway 17, Laird Township.
On Feb. 7 at approximately 2:50 p.m. a member of the Ontario Provincial Police Sault Ste. Marie detachment stopped a vehicle on Highway 17, Laird Township. As a result a small quantity of marijuana was seized and a 24-year-old male, Jason Foran of New Brunswick, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Foran was released and is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2002.

Sault OPP have received complaints in relation to people parking their trucks and trailers and unloading their snowmachines on area roads. In some cases they have blocked access and created hazardous driving conditions for local residents. Sault OPP remind people to use due diligence before leaving their vehicle/trailer parked in a particular location.
