TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO ARREST (Laird Twp., ON) – At 1:00 am this morning OPP received a call regarding a possible impaired driver who left a residence in the city.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO ARREST

(Laird Twp., ON)At 1:00 am this morning OPP received a call regarding a possible impaired driver who left a residence in the city. OPP located the vehicle in front of a residence in the 2000 block of Government Road in Laird Township.

The officer approached the vehicle and noted an odour of alcoholic beverage eminating from the vehicle and one male sitting in the driver’s seat. Two open beer bottles were lying on the front seat and the keys were in the ignition.

The male was requested to provide a breath sample into an approved roadside screening device.

As a result of further investigation, 61 year old Frederic DEACON of Government Road, Laird Township was arrested and charged with Failing To Provide a Breath Sample and released on an appearance notice for court on February 27, 2012. 

The accused also received a 7 day vehicle impoundment and was issued a 90 day Notice of License Suspension.
