Two Monteith correctional officers charged (Monteith, ON) - A six-month investigation into the supplying of contraband into Monteith Correctional Complex has resulted in charges against two correctional officers.

(Monteith, ON) - A six-month investigation into the supplying of contraband into Monteith Correctional Complex has resulted in charges against two correctional officers.

The investigation was carried out by the Correctional Investigation and Security Unit with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police after information about the alleged activity came to light.

The contraband included items such as cigarettes, loose tobacco, rolling papers and lighters.

Charged with three counts of Breach of Trust under Section 122 of the Criminal Code of Canada is Patrick BOURGEOIS, 25 years of age, Gatineau Quebec.

Travis LARIVEE, 23 years of age, Iroquois Falls, faces two counts, Breach of Trust.

At the onset of the investigation, both men were suspended from their positions as correctional officers at Monteith Correctional Complex, Monteith, Ontario.

The accused have been released with conditions and a court date of March 29, 2005 has been scheduled for Timmins District Court
