Echo Bay Sign Missing Letters

Echo Bay is a quiet little burgh just east of the Sault.. Certainly, not the sort of locale that deserves to attract the seamier side of society. Yet even Echo Bay must suffer through the dishonest activities of those bent on ruining someone’s day. Sault O.P.P. received a theft complaint yesterday afternoon that is just a bit beyond the norm.

Somebody must have been short a couple vowels for their noodle soup. The new sign proclaiming “Echo Bay”, as you arrive in that community, was targeted by thieves. The “A” and the “E”, two stalwarts in the spelling of Echo Bay are missing. These letters are not small. They are six feet high by three feet wide and were screwed to boards. They are made out of a plastic material similar to arena rink boards. They are not suitable as replacements for lost scrabble letters unless you live in the land of the giants.

Truck Tail gate heft at Laird

Another different kind of theft occurred last night at Laird Raceway. A gentleman spent the evening enjoying the fare at the racetrack, oblivious to the fact, that out in the parking lot somebody was coveting part of his pick up truck. It wasn’t one of those “I wish I had a nice truck like that”, kind of thoughts, it was more like, “I wish I had a tail gate like that”, kind of thought. Well, thoughts turned to actions and now the gentleman who was enjoying the races is in need of a tailgate for his truck. The strawberry red tailgate was design to fit a 2003 Ford F250 pick-up truck. It was discovered missing at 11:15 P.M. on the 14th of July. Surely between the beginning of the races and the time of discovery someone noticed the removal process of this tailgate
