Outrageous Speed in Echo Bay

A Sault Ste Marie OPP Detachment officer on routine traffic patrol in Echo Bay, MacDonald Twp. At 9::10 p.m. Thursday evening July 3rd. Came upon a east bound vehicle on Hwy#638 traveling at 159 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone. The vehicle, a Pontiac trans am was driving on a curve and was the only vehicle on the highway at the time. Charged with stunt driving , drive with no insurance and use of plates not authorized is Thomas Gregory COLLINGS age 24 of 109 Bar River Rd. MacDonald Twp. In addition to the loss of his license for 7 days and having his vehicle towed and impounded for a week Mr. Collings will face many thousands of dollars in possible fines. Once again we got lucky that this type of irresponsible driving did not result in a tragedy.
