23 CHARGES FOR LOCAL MALE
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP has charged a local male with several charges after attending a residence on Dieppe Avenue in Elliot Lake.
At approximately 9:23 p.m., June 13, 2012 police received a call reporting the sound of breaking glass coming from a residence. Police arrived on scene shortly after receiving the call and located the suspect in the house. The accused was arrested and transported to the Elliot Lake Detachment.
Through investigation police learned that the suspect knew the homeowner and entered the residence without permission, while the owner was away from the residence. Entry was allegedly gained through a shattered window. Once in the residence, the suspect allegedly caused damage to the residence and its contents.
While the suspect was under arrest he allegedly threatened police and while the accused was in the police cruiser he caused damage to a door and window. The accused continued to utter threat to police, family members and to utter threat to cause damage to personal property.
Charged with the following is Paul Michael YOUNG (45) of Elliot Lake
- Mischief Under $5,000 (X3)
- Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm (X14)
- Utter Threat to Damage Property (X5)
- Break and Enter
The accused remains in Sault Ste Marie awaiting a Bail Hearing.
UNDERCOVER PROJECT RESULTS IN 27 PEOPLE BEING CHARGED
(Sturgeon Falls, ON.) The Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, North Bay Drug Unit and the West Nipissing Police Service have charged 27 individuals with drug related offences following early morning arrests conducted in the Municipality of West Nipissing on Thursday June 14, 2012.
The charges stem from a seven month long undercover investigation conducted by the two Police Agencies.
The investigation focused on infiltrating drug traffickers operating in the Municipality of West Nipissing. An undercover officer was successful in infiltrating local traffickers and making numerous purchases. The investigation concluded with the execution of two search warrants.
Twenty seven individuals have been charged with 108 drug related offences. Methamphetamine, cocaine, marihuana, oxycodone, cannabis resin and psilocybin was purchased and seized along with $6,000 cash and a GMC Pickup truck. The street value of the drugs seized is $ 75,000.
