VEHICLE STOP FOR SPEEDING LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE

(Hwy 17 Garden River First Nation, Ont.) A traffic stop for speeding on Highway 17 East yesterday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. resulted in one male being arrested for Possession of a narcotic under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

While the vehicle was stopped, the officer detected an odor of a narcotic that resulted in a search of the vehicle and a seizure of 154 grams of marijuana.

Arrested and charged is 45 year old Georges ESTEVES of Toronto, Ontario. ESTEVES was released on a recognizance to appear in court on the 30th July, 2008.
