STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED; CHARGES LAID (CHAPLEAU) – On March 25, 2009 a vehicle was reported stolen from a Chapleau residence.
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED; CHARGES LAID

(CHAPLEAU) – On March 25, 2009 a vehicle was reported stolen from a Chapleau residence. As a result of further investigation a 17 year old Chapleau male has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada for “Public Mischief” as well as three counts of “Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.” The youth cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He will appear in Chapleau Court in May to answer to the charges. The vehicle has been recovered.

TRESPASSING; EVADING POLICE LEADS TO CHARGES

(CHAPLEAU) – On March 25, 2009 at approximately 5:40 pm officers were dispatched to the Canadian Pacific Railroad property regarding two subjects riding dirt bikes on the rail property. Upon arrival police observed two subjects operating dirt bikes on the tracks. One driver stopped at the scene but the second left the area attempting to evade the officers. As a result of further investigation the subject and bike were subsequently located. The first driver was warned and released. Charged with “Fail to Stop for Police” contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and “Trespass to Property” is Joey BOWES age 20, of Chapleau. He will appear in Chapleau court in May 2009.

A total of 45 vehicles and 3 motorized snow vehicles were checked during RIDE checks resulting in 1 Highway Traffic Act charge but no other infractions noted.
