Hwy 17 Now Opened Fully

(Espanola, Ontario) Members of Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with the assistance of a Technical Traffic Collision Investigator, are currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision, which occurred on Highway 17 1 km East of Massey.

Highway 17 is fully open now.

Theft Of Purse

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP has charged a local male after receiving a complaint of a stolen purse on March 21st, 2006. Investigation revealed that at approximately 10:15 a.m. the suspect allegedly took a purse from a classroom located in a local school. Information received led to the arrest of Joseph Cyril FORTIN (18) of Elliot Lake. FORTIN has been charged with Theft Under and is scheduled to appear in court on May 2, 2006.

Investigation competed.

Hwy 17 Reduced to One Lane

(Espanola, Ontario) Members of Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with the assistance of a Technical Traffic Collision Investigator, are currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision, which occurred on Highway 17 1 km East of Massey.

Highway 17 in this area is reduced to one lane. The motoring public is urged to slow down and exercise caution well traveling through this area.
