Bicycle Bandits Leave Trail

(Blind River, Ont.) On Thursday morning Police in Blind River were answering several calls regarding found property, stolen property and break and enters.

It appears as though thieves had taken bicycles from some locations and in their travels left them behind as they traipsed through a Blind River neighbourhood.

Police know that the incidents happened sometime around 3:00 a.m. when two persons were seen walking in and out of driveways in the Rousseau Crescent area. One bicycle from an unknown source was left at a residence and the culprits then broke into a garage only three houses away. The thieves stole a bicycle from the house where they left the first and left it at a third house across the street from the break in. The suspects then entered a vehicle on Rousseau Cr and then proceeded to Leacock St where they broke into a shed and stole two more bicycles. Police recovered one of the bicycles less than a block from the theft.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
East Algoma O.P.P. are reminding people, once again, to lock up your valuables and secure you houses and out buildings.

Don’t make your possessions easy targets for criminals!
