Guns, hunting knives, traps stolen from camp near Thessalon, OPP say

THESSALON, ON - On April 20, 2020, shortly before 7:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FIS) responded to a break and enter on the Shaw Road, north of the Town of Thessalon. 

Sometime between April 5 and April 20, 2020, suspect(s) attended a property on Shaw Road, breaking into both the shed and camp. The locks on both buildings were broken and entry was gained using a crowbar.

Items stolen were:

  • 30-30 Winchester long barrel, dark brown in colour, lever action
  • 410 over/under Savage, new butt stock on it, brown in colour
  • Red 2015 Arctic Cat ATV (ON) 9DD72
  • 10 to 11 large traps used for beaver trapping
  • One large red jerry can
  • 9 to 10 skinning knives
  • a 7" bowing knife

Property stolen has an estimate value of $10,000.
