BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION - On April 15, 2020 at approximately 2:15 p.m., members from the Batchewana Police Service, with the assistance of members from the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a suspicious person call in Batchewana First Nation.
When police arrived at the scene, the person fled on foot into a wooded area.
To assist with the investigation, members of the North East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9) were deployed.
The person was arrested shortly afterwards on an outstanding arrest warrant for charges stemming from Toronto Police Service.
