HERE’S YOUR WARNING—DON’T EXPECT ANOTHER ONE

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

The men and woman of the Sault Ste Marie OPP are prepared and ready to participate in this springs Seatbelt Blitz.

It’s been over thirty years since this law has been enacted and people still try to use a variety of excuses in an attempt to get out a seatbelt ticket.

The most common excuse of “I just forgot this time..I usually wear it” translates into “ I only put it on when I see a cruiser, other than that I usually just don’t bother”.

Officers have lots of ink in their pens and extra ticket books. If you are looking for sympathy from any of us for not wearing your seatbelt we suggest you try a dictionary. There have been too many unnecessary injuries and deaths for officers to show any leniency for seatbelt infractions.

There---you been warned. Next time it’s a ticket worth two demerit points and cash.
