The Sault detachment of the O.P.P. has had a quiet twenty-four hour period, however, police advise that, due to the considerable amount of rain we have been receiving, some secondary roads are beginning to deteriorate.

Motorists should be aware in particular of Watson's Road, just southeast of Echo Bay. Although the road remains open, a couple of potholes that police say could be described as sinkholes have opened up due to the heavy rain.

The Ministry of Transportation has closed Wirty Road at Goulais River. The road is completely underwater and will likely be closed for quite some time.

Motorists should use extreme caution when travelling secondary roads in the area.
