THEFT COMPLAINT NETS MORE CHARGES FOR LOCAL MALE
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Police arrested and charged a local male after receiving a call of a possible theft.
The victim called police on April 19th, 2013 stating that a person known to her had allegedly stolen $70.00. Police investigating and located the suspect.
At the time of arrest the suspect was found to have on his person cocaine and marihuana.
Charged with the following is Wesley Bruce MAYNES (54) of Elliot Lake
- Theft under
- Possession of Cannabis Marihuana
- Trafficking - Cocaine
The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie.
OPP CHARGE SUSPENDED DRIVER
(SOUTH PORCUPINE) The South Porcupine OPP has charged a 23 yr old driver with a number of traffic offences stemming from a routine traffic stop on April 20th, 2013, on Hwy 101 in Ogden Twp, west of Timmins.
An OPP officer had occasion to stop the driver of a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck for allegedly using his cell phone while driving.
Based on the standard verifications completed by the OPP officer, it was determined that the vehicle’s permit was no longer current and that the driver was currently under suspension in Ontario.
As a result, Dale SCHULTZ, 23, of Timmins, has been charged with:
- Driving a Motor Vehicle – No Valid Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Drive a Motor Vehicle While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Operate Motor Vehicle While Using Handheld Communications Device contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The driver has been served with a Summons requiring him to attend Provincial Court on May 23rd, 2013, to answer to the charges laid against him.
TWO ARRESTED
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The OPP has arrested and charged two males and a third male is being sought for two break and enters in the Elliot Lake area.
Between 6:00 p.m. April 16th, 2013 and 6:00 a.m. April 17, 2013 a business on highway 108 was entered and the following items were taken;
- Laptop Computer
- Flat screen computer Monitor
- Camera
Between 6:00 p.m. April 17, 2013 and 8:49 a.m. April 18, 2013 a business on Elizabeth Square in Elliot Lake was a victim of break and enter. The culprits caused approximately $3,000.00 of damage but at the time of this report no property was believed to have been taken.
Charged with the following is Wesley Bruce MAYNES (54) of Elliot Lake.
- Break and Enter (X2)
- Possession of Break In Instruments
The above accused remains in custody.
Also charged with the following is Cody Joshua Charles WATSON (18) (AKA EVERTON) of Elliot Lake.
- Break and Enter (X2)
- Possession of Break In Instruments
The above accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court June 4, 2013.
