SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO CHARGE

(MacDonald Twp., Ont.) On Friday, April 4th, 2008 at 10:20 pm OPP were called to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 638 and Bar River Road.

A Minivan was southbound on Highway 638 when the driver failed to stop at the intersection to make a left turn onto Bar River Road and ended up in the southbound ditch.

There were no injuries but the minivan had to be towed.

Charged with Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign under the Highway Traffic Act is Tatjana Johnston, 52 years, of #15 Highway 546, Huron Shores, Ontario.

DO NOT DRIVE WITH OPEN LIQUOR IN YOUR VEHICLE

1. (Aweres Twp., Ont.) On Friday the 4th April, 2008 at around 11:00 pm OPP stopped a motorist on Highway 17 in Aweres Township and found open liquor in the vehicle.

Charged under the Liquor License Act of Ontario is Daniel BRETON, 21 years, of 283A Bellevue Valley Road, Goulais River, Ontario.

2. (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) While conducting RIDE spot checks in the East end the evening of Saturday, April 5th, 2008 one 12 hour suspension was issued and one male passenger was charged for having open liquor in a vehicle.

Charged under the Liquor License Act of Ontario with Having Liquor in Open Container in other that Licensed Premise, Residence or Private Place is Richard AELICK, 38 years, of 212 Albert Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
