Traffic Complaint Leads to Breach Of Probation and Threatening Charges

Wawa, Ontario – On Saturday April 5, 2008, at approximately 2:30 pm, members of the Superior East Detachment in Wawa were dispatched to a disabled vehicle on Hwy 17 in Rix Township, approximately 93 kilometers south of Wawa. Upon arrival, officers located a female with an intoxicated male. Further checks revealed the male was on probation with conditions not to consume alcohol. He further threatened to cause bodily harm to a family member of the female, and to shoot the responding OPP officer and her if arrested.

Arrested and charged with two counts of Breach Of Probation and three counts of Utter Threats is Brian Jones, age 47, of no fixed address. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday April 7, 2008.

ALMOST NETS LOCAL MALE SEVERAL CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at approximately 1:21 a.m. two officers of the East Algoma OPP were on patrolled in Elliot Lake when a vehicle drove past the police vehicle almost sideswiping the cruiser.

The suspect vehicle allegedly accelerated and stopped for police 1.1kms further.

Charged with the following is David George YOUNG (30) of Elliot Lake.

Flight from Police

YOUNG is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on June 3, 2008

THEFT UNDER CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMALE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) April 4, 2008 at approximately 5:20 p.m. police were called to attend a grocery store in regards to a possible theft.

On scene police located the suspect with store security.

Charged with Theft Under is Karen TRIMBLE (33) of Elliot Lake. TRIMBLE is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake Court on June 3, 2008.
