OPP INVESTIGATE SEVERAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS OVER WEEKEND
(Garden River, ON) – On Friday, August 13th at 9:45 pm a driver on Highway 17 East travelling eastbound struck a bear that came out of the northbound ditch. The driver was uninjured and minimal damage to the pick up truck being driven.

At 10:45 pm on Friday August 13th, 2010 OPP investigated a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East.A Chevrolet Malibu travelling westbound lost control after running into the gravel shoulder and rolling into the ditch. There were two occupants in the vehicle who were not injured but damage to the vehicle was severe and it had to be towed. Charged with Fail to Drive In Marked Lane under the Highway Traffic Act is 30 year old Shu Zhu of Winnipeg Manitoba.

(Laird Twp., ON) – On Saturday, 14 August 2010 at 3:50 am OPP attended a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East near Bar River Road. An Oldsmobile Alero travelling westbound lost control and rolled over into the ditch onto the roof. Damage to the vehicle was severe and it had to be towed. The driver and lone occupant was not injured. Charged with Fail to Drive In Marked Lane under the Highway Traffic Act is 17 year old Jean-Frederique Pinard-De-Celles of Mercier, Quebec.

(Vankoughnet Twp., ON) – On Sunday, 15 August 2010 at 1:40 pm OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 North near the Goulais River bridge. A 1997 Hyundai Elantra travelling northbound crossed the northbound lane and went into the ditch. The driver and lone occupant was not injured. The driver, 93 year old Charles Richards of Highway 552 East in Goulais River was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Fail to Drive in Marked Lane.

FEMALE ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT
(Kehoe Twp., ON) – On Saturday, 14 August 2010 a 36 year old female was arrested for an assault on her male partner earlier that day. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for court on 15 September 2010.

FOUND BOAT AND MOTOR
(Havilland Twp, ON) – A 14 ft. Starcraft aluminum boat with a 15 hp mercury motor was found between Batchewana Bay and Harmony beach yesterday. If anyone is missing their boat contact the Sault Ste. Marie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
