HIGHWAY 17 WEST OF BRUCE MINES TO BE CLOSED

(Bruce Mines, Ontario) On Monday December 8, 2008 from approximately 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police will be closing Highway 17 just west of Bruce Mines, Ontario while a transport is removed from the ditch. The section of highway that will be closed is from the west town limit of Bruce Mines, Ontario to Center Line Road.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on December 8, 2008 a transport entered the north side of Highway 17 into the ditch, landing on its side. The transport was carrying food products which are currently being removed and reloaded onto another transport.

The driver, Aaron GARVEY, (34) of Trout Creek, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with “Careless Driving” and “Fail to drive in marked lane”.

The driver was not injured.

There is no detour in place.

The highway closure will last approximately 1 hour.
