Snowmobile fatality
Grasett Twp, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP on February 11, 2012 at approximately 10:47pm were notified of a single motorized snow vehicle collision on Little Pickerel Lake, in Grasett Twp., which is situated approximately 40 km north of Thessalon, Ontario.
Members of the East Algoma OPP, Emergency Medical Services and an OPP North East Region Technical Collision Investigator attended at the scene of the collision.
A 60 year old male was visiting with some friends at a camp on Little Pickerel Lake and the male departed for his own camp between 9:30 and 10:00pm, travelling on his Motorized Snow Vehicle. The male was to contact his friends to advise them that he had arrived back at his camp and when he failed to do so, his friends went looking for him and they subsequently located the male along with his Motorized Snow Vehicle.
Pronounced deceased at the scene is 60 year old Raymond Ethelston of Elliot Lake Ontario.
The investigation, involving East Algoma OPP members, an OPP North East Region Technical Collision Officer and the Provincial Coroners office is still under investigation at this time.
