Three teenagers walked away from an early-morning accident after the pick-up truck they were driving slid into a tree in Searchmount. On Saturday Feb. 16 at about 4 a.m.
Three teenagers walked away from an early-morning accident after the pick-up truck they were driving slid into a tree in Searchmount. On Saturday Feb. 16 at about 4 a.m. the truck was travelling on Finns Road in Searchmount when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The truck slid off the roadway and into a tree. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The 17-year-old driver of the truck is charged with driving with no licence.

A weekend ride on a snow machine landed a Sault Ste. Marie man in hospital with an injured leg. On Saturday morning, two men were on the snow machine trail near Searchmount. The snow machine they were riding became stuck in deep snow. One man attempted to drive the machine out of the deep snow. The man holding the back of the machine lost his footing and slipped under the track. His legs were badly cut by the studs on the track of the machine.
