Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating a break and enter that occurred in the 600 block of Havilland Shores Drive in Goulais River.

On Saturday afternoon, the owners of the seasonal residence arrived to find the door to the camp wide open. Sometime in the past month the criminal element entered the home and searched the entire structure. So far the owners are able to determine that a large quantity of camping equipment has been removed from the house. The equipment is estimated to be worth over $2000.00.

January has been designated as Crime Stoppers month. SNOW MACHINES TRESSPASSING

Echo Bay, Ont.,
Patrol officers from the Sault Ste Marie OPP Detachment charged a McCarroll Lake man with trespassing after he admitted to driving his snow machine across someone’s property.

On Sunday 18 January 2004 at about 1:00 a.m. an Echo Bay resident witnessed four snow machines cut across his property. He was able to get the license off of one of the four machines involved. The machines were located at a tavern in Echo Bay. The driver of the machine admitted to knowingly trespassing. He was charged under the Trespass to Property Act.


WEEKEND COLLISIONS

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,
Officers from the Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated six collisions in their respective patrols area’s over the weekend. There were no injuries in any of the six collisions. Officers attribute the cause for most of the collisions to driving too fast for weather conditions.
