OPP CHARGE MALE AFTER SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED

(Spanish, ON.) – On January 28, 2011 officers from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit and officers from the East Algoma Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Lapointe Street in Spanish. As a result of the search officers located and seized a quantity cannabis marihuana, methadone and various pills with a total street value of under $5000. Charged is 45 year old Daniel FRAYNE of Spanish. FRAYNE has been charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

FRAYNE is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on April 7, 2011.

ROAD RAGE RESULTS IN ASSAULT CHARGE

(Blind River, ON.) – On January 25, 2011 Joel LARCHER was passing through Blind River on Causley Street headed home a snow machine trip when a Jeep pulled out in front of him causing him to brake to avoid a collision. He changed lanes to get away from the Jeep but that did not work. The operator of the Jeep pulled up beside him, rolled down his window and began yelling at him to pull over. LARCHER continued on his way ignoring the other driver until the Jeep pulled in front of him forcing him to stop in the middle of the road. The driver of the Jeep approached LARCHER and accused him of cutting him off. The driver of the Jeep then opened LARCHER’S door and punched him several times to the head. LARCHER exited his vehicle and was able to calm the other driver down who then left the scene. LARCHER called police who were able to locate the Jeep and driver. A charged with one count of Assault is 24 year old Mark PLOURDE of Blind River. PLOURDE is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on March 3, 2011.
