INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE
(Hearst, Ont.)

The Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is assisting the Ministry of Labour with the investigation of an industrial accident that occurred during the early morning hours of the July 11, 2004. A 35-year-old Hearst man, Steve Brunet, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in a work related accident.

The accident occurred at approx. 2:50 am on the yesterday at the Columbia Forest Products Mill in the Town of Hearst.

The Ministry of Labour is conducting a full investigation into the incident. The Ministry is being assisted by members of the Hearst OPP Detachment, the Kapuskasing-Hearst OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Technical Identification Unit stationed out of South Porcupine.
