UPDATE - SEARCH CONTINUES NORTH OF ELLIOT LAKE

(ELLIOT LAKE, ONTARIO) – The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is continuing its investigation into the found human remains at a park north of Elliot Lake.

Police confirmed through forensic pathology report that a human foot was located on July 13, 2012 at Mississaugi Provincial Park 22 kilometres north of Elliot Lake. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit are on scene and continuing the search.

The OPP will continue to provide media updates as information becomes available.

DRIVER CAUGHT SPEEDING, CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

(Aweres Twp, ON) – On 13th July 2012, at approx. 7:50 pm, Police were conducting radar on Hwy 17, Aweres Twp and observed a 2007 grey Honda Civic to be traveling E/B at a high rate of speed.  FONTAINE, Darryl Anthony, 32 yrs of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan was stopped and subsequent police investigation resulted in FONTAINE being arrested for impaired operation. He advised police that he had spent the day at Harmony Beach consuming alcohol and open alcohol was discovered in the vehicle.

FONTAINE was held for a bail hearing.

DRIVER CAUGHT AT RIDE CHECK

(Fenwick Twp, ON) -  On the 14th July 2012, Police were conducting R.I.D.E. on Hwy 552 W, Goulais River.  At 9:45 pm, Police stopped a 1998 White Ford Explorer. Subsequent police investigation resulted in Paul, F LEWIS 57 yrs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario being charged with “over 80 mgs”. 

LEWIS was released on a Promise To Appear with a first Appearance court date of 20 August 2012.
