Motor Vehicle Accident Victims Identified (WHITE RIVER) – On July 9, 2009 at approximately 10:30 pm, The OPP investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 20 kilometres south of White River.

(WHITE RIVER) – On July 9, 2009 at approximately 10:30 pm, The OPP investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 20 kilometres south of White River. As a result of this incident the two occupants of the vehicle were fatally injured. The vehicle was being driven by Thomas BRYDON, age 33 of Kelowna, British Columbia. The passenger has been identified as Laura NAGY, age 26 of Montreal, Quebec. There were no charges laid as a result of this collision.

Road Closure Advisory

The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public of the following lane closures on Hwy 17 west near Webbwood. Two lanes are currently closed; one lane is open to alternating traffic. Motorists can expect traffic delays in this area for several hours.

Location: Hwy 17 W near Webbwood.

Detachment area: Sudbury (Espanola) OPP

Time of road closure: 4:00 pm

Reason for the closure: Serious motor vehicle collision currently under investigation. .

Detour: This is a three lane section of Hwy 17 West, two lanes are closed, and one lane is open to alternating traffic. Delays are to be expected.
