MACDONALD, MEREDITH, ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON – On July 26, 2015 at approximately 3:30 a.m. a 911 call was received by Sault Ste.
MACDONALD, MEREDITH, ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON – On July 26, 2015 at approximately 3:30 a.m. a 911 call was received by Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Echo Bay Fire Department regarding a fire in the 200 block of Cottage Road.

While Police and Fire were on their way to respond, local cottagers quickly formed a bucket line retrieving water from McCarroll Lake in an effort to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the property and other cottages until emergency services arrived.

A sauna out building adjacent to a camp was destroyed. 

There was no damage to any other buildings.

No injuries were reported and no one was at this location at the time of the fire.

MACDONALD, MEREDITH & ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP -  On July 24, 2015 at 3 p.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and a car at the intersection of Highway 17 and Watson’s Road.

The pick-up truck was crossing the intersection when it collided with a car travelling eastbound on Highway 17.

No injuries were reported.

Both vehicles had to be towed.

The driver of the pick-up truck, Mark Crockford, 55 years, of Johnson Township was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic as per section 144(8) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
