REPORT OF MOTOR VEHICLE IN DITCH, DRIVER CHARGED
(Havilland Twp., ON) – On July 28, 2013 at approximately 7:00 am Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a call regarding a truck in a ditch on Havilland Shores Drive.
OPP attended the scene and located a lone male occupant sleeping in the driver’s seat.
As a result of police investigation, twenty-nine year old Shawn Alexander Desjardins of Boundary Road, Sault Ste. Marie, ON was arrested and charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle - over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and two counts of Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for Provincial Court in Sault Ste. Marie on August 26, 2013.
