ARRESTED FOR MISCHIEF AND ASSAULT
Elliot Lake, Ont

Yesterday, employees at the Canadian Tire Store on Hillside Dr. S. in Elliot Lake identified a suspect in a shoplifting incident. During an attempt to steal two items from the store the accused was stopped and questioned.

While in the store office he became agitated and forced two employees from the office and then proceeded to trash the office by damaging office equipment and setting off the fire extinguisher. Police were called and arrested the accused.

Police have charged 21-year-old Lee Dennis POLMATEER of Milliken Road, Elliot Lake, Ont. with: Assault, Uttering Threats and Mischief over $5000.

POLMATEER is to appear in court for a bail hearing today(05 July 04) in Sault Ste. Marie at 10:00 a.m.
