A collision on Hwy 17 in Echo Bay on Saturday afternoon saw minor injuries to three people in one vehicle.

On Saturday at about 4:00 p.m. one vehicle was attempting to turn left off of Hwy 17 into the Home Hardware store when it was struck from behind by a second vehicle.

Three of the four people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

No charges were laid in this investigation.


TWO COLLISIONS IN LAIRD TWP KILL MOOSE AND BEAR

Two separate collisions over the weekend on Hwy 17 in Laird Twp, east of Sault Ste Marie, saw a moose and bear killed in the collisions.

The first collision occurred on Friday. A tourist from Indiana was traveling west on Hwy 17 near Pumpkin Point Rd when he saw a moose run onto the highway. He was pulling a recreational trailer behind his mini van. He slowed down to avoid the moose. The moose missed the mini van but ran into the recreational trailer.
