Two Motor Vehicle Collisions 1) On February 27, 2009 at 4:50 pm a two vehicle MVC at Sean Court in Chapleau resulted in minor damage and no injuries. Two vehicles exiting their driveways at the same time came into contact with each other.

1) On February 27, 2009 at 4:50 pm a two vehicle MVC at Sean Court in Chapleau resulted in minor damage and no injuries. Two vehicles exiting their driveways at the same time came into contact with each other. No charges were laid as a result.

2) On February 28, 2009 at 2:20 pm a two vehicle collision was investigated by Wawa OPP. Minor damage was reported with no injuries on Rue Des Pins in Dubreuilville. One of the drivers, 29 year old Michel COURTY of Dubreuilville was charged with “Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign”.

Theft

Chapleau OPP are presently investigating a theft from a local residence. Missing is a substantial amount of Canadian $1 and $2 coins. The theft is believed to have occurred between February 25, 2009 and March 1, 2009.

R.I.D.E.

Thirteen RIDE checks were conducted throughout the Superior East patrol area resulting in 159 checks being done with 1 Highway Traffic Act warning and one Traffic related charge being laid.

MALE ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

(MacDonald Twp., ON) – OPP responded to a domestic disturbance call on Sunday, March 1st, 2009 at 3:30 pm in Macdonald Township.

It is alleged that a male punched his common law partner in the face several times.

The victim received injuries to her mouth and nose area but did not require medical attention.

The male was arrested and charged with Assault. He is to appear in Bail court this morning.

High Risk Warrant Executed in Hearst

(Hearst, ON.) – On the 28th of February 2009, the Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested a suspect in regards to a series of violent crimes in the Hearst area. The arrest, which was conducted by the OPP Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU) was assisted by the Regional Emergency Response Team, the local Detachment members and Crime Unit. It took place on 9th Street in Hearst at approximately 330pm this date.

The suspect, Jean Jokisch, age 46yrs, who had relocated to Hearst recently, was arrested without incident and transported to the Hearst Detachment. Jokisch has been charged with Robbery, Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation for the Hearst incidents.

Jokisch will be held in custody until court, in Cochrane, Monday morning.
