ONE MORE FOUND TO BE OVER

(Sault Ste Marie, Ont.) Another Sault Ste Marie resident will be finding other means of transportation after he was charged with drinking and driving.

Yesterday at about 1:45 p.m. an officer from the Sault OPP detachment checked a vehicle on Trunk Road in Sault Ste Marie. The driver showed signs that he had been drinking and a roadside test confirmed the officer’s suspicion.

The man was returned to the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment where further testing showed the man to be over the legal limit to be driving.

Fifty five (55) year old Lyle PORTER, of 1223 Trunk Road in Sault Ste Marie, has been charged with one count of Driving While Over the Legal Limit of .08. He has been asked to come to court in December.

CAR-DEER CRASH INJURES ONE

(Echo Bay, Ont.) A crash last night between a car and a deer resulted in minor injuries for the driver
of the car.

Last night at about 8:30 p.m. a car was traveling west on Hwy 17 about 1 kilometer west of Barr River Road in Echo Bay. Three deer suddenly appeared crossing the highway in front of the car. The driver braked and tried to avoid the deer but he did hit one of the three.

There was moderate damage to the car and the driver suffered minor injuries from the crash. He did not require an ambulance. The driver was able to drive his car away. The deer was killed in the collision.
