THEFT A LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 12, 2007 a staff member of a local elementary school contacted police regarding a possible theft that may have taken place on school property.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 12, 2007 a staff member of a local elementary school contacted police regarding a possible theft that may have taken place on school property.

Investigation revealed that a pair of running shoes had been allegedly stolen from a student. Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime is a 12-year-old male student.

The 12-year-old male youth is scheduled to appear in court on November 6th, 2007.

The name of the accused will not be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT NETS DRIVER CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP has charged a local male after a traffic complaint was called into the Communication Centre. On October 13, 2007 at approximately 8:46 p.m. police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 108. Police located the vehicle and the driver was charged.

Charged with Breach of Probation and Possession of Drugs is Jason Marshall ROBINSON (20) of Elliot Lake.

ROBINSON is scheduled to appear in court on December 11, 2007.

VACATION DEAL NOT THAT GOOD AFTER ALL!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP received a call from a local citizens requesting assistance regarding a vacation they purchased. The victim reports that on December 10, 2006 a call was received from Vacation UN Limited with an offer of a vacation to Florida, Mexico and possibly Portugal. The victim provided a credit card number to cover a small cost of over $700.00. A transaction on the credit card was recorded on December 12, 2006 and the victim paid the balance in full on January 2007.

As of this date, the victim has not received a vacation package or tickets from the above-mentioned company.

POLICE WOULD LIKE TO CAUTION EVERYONE NOT TO HANDOUT CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON THE PHONE AND TO ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE VALIDITY OF THE CALLER.

Investigation continuing.

GENERATOR TAKEN FROM BACK YARD SHED

(Spanish, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating the theft of a generator. On October 12, 2007 the victim contacted police reporting that between October 1, 2007 and October 12, 2007 unknown person(s) entered his shed located behind his residence on John Street and removed a 200-Watt Honda generator. The stolen item is valued at approximately $1,800.00.

Car Window smashed - Rankin Reserve

(Sault Ste. Marie) On Saturday, 13th October, at 12:55 a.m. a car window was smashed out with a rock. The car was parked in the lot of Steel Speed Industries at 487 Gran Street, Batchawana First Nation. The suspect is described as:
Native
Male
Age 16-19
Long black hair worn in a pony tail
Wearing a black hoodie and black back pack.
