DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE INVESTIGATED

(AWERES TWP., ON) - On Friday, October 21, 2011 Sault Ste. Marie OPP were dispatched to a domestic incident in Aweres Township.

As a result of this investigation a previous assault was reported where a male physically assaulted his common law partner by allegedly grabbing her neck and banging her head on the floor then grabbing her by the throat.

A 52 year old male was arrested and charged for one count of Assault and one count of Bodily harm: overcoming resistance to the commission of an offence.

The accused is being held for bail court this morning in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

WEAPON OFFENCES

(BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON) - Batchewana First Nation Police and the OPP responded to a weapons complaint on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at approximately 1 am in the 2000 block of Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation.

Investigation revealed that a male was driving around the area with an insecure firearm after being asked to leave a residence.

Police attended the scene and the accused was arrested without incident.

37 year old David Gingras of Mission Road, Batchewana First Nation was arrested and charged with the following; Weapons Dangerous to Public, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Careless Storage of a Firearm and Breach of Probation.

The accused has been held in custody and is to appear in bail court this morning in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

THEFT OF DIRT BIKE

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – The Superior East Ontario Provincial Police Chapleau Detachment are currently investigating the theft of a Suzuki 250 dirt bike. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between October 21st and 22nd, 2011 from a residence on Co-Gen Road.
