IMPAIRED DRIVERS Goulais River, Ont., A Sault Ste Marie woman will appear in Sault Ste Marie court in late November to answer to an Impaired Driving charge over the weekend. On Sunday evening at about 6:00 p.m.

Goulais River, Ont.,

A Sault Ste Marie woman will appear in Sault Ste Marie court in late November to answer to an Impaired Driving charge over the weekend.

On Sunday evening at about 6:00 p.m. officers from the Sault Ste Marie Detachment attended at the scene of a pick up truck in the ditch on Mahler Rd in Goulais River. Officers determined that the female driver of the truck had been drinking and she failed the roadside test.

She was returned to the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment where she failed the breathalyser tests.

Thirty four year old Sherry Pelletier of Sault Ste Marie will appear in Sault Ste Marie court in late November to answer to a charge of Impaired Driving. She received minor injuries in the collision but did not require medical treatment.

Echo Bay, Ont.,

A Quebec man was taken into custody and charged with Impaired Driving after he was found in an impaired condition behind the wheel of his car on the weekend.

On Friday night at about 11:30 p.m. OPP officers were called to Bar River Road just east of Echo Bay. The twenty-year-old man from Quebec was found asleep behind the wheel of his car. He showed several signs on obvious impairment and he was taken to the Sault Ste Marie OPP office for Breathalyser tests.

Twenty year old David Labonte of Ste Ettienne De Lauzon, Quebec was charged with Impaired Driving. He posted bail and was released for a court appearance in November.

NORTH END BREAK AND ENTERS

Pancake Bay, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to a break and enter at a seasonal home just off Hwy 17 in the Pancake Bay area.

The caretaker of the home arrived on Saturday afternoon to find the front door of the home forcibly opened. It doesn’t appear that anything was removed from the home.

Heyden, Ont.,

Officers were called to a camp on Heyden Lake in Heyden after the owner of a camp found his cabin entered and property removed.

Thieves removed a generator, chainsaw, ice auger and other property from the camp.

Goulais River, Ont.,

Five Havilland Shore youths are lucky they have an understanding neighbour after he found his house illegally entered over the weekend.

The five youths entered the Onley Road home and stole a jar of coins from their neighbour. The homeowner did not want the five charged. All five were spoken to in the presence of their parents. The five ranged in age from eight to thirteen.
