Cars broken into at Searchmont

Searchmont, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating several occurrences in the Searchmont area over the weekend.

On two occasions the mischievous mayhem makers stretched black electrical tape across the Goulais River Bridge on Hwy 532 in Searchmont . One driver went through the tape prior to seeing it. The suspect put more tape across the bridge but a concerned citizen of the community saw the tape and removed it prior to another vehicle going through the obstacle.

Sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning three vehicles in the Searchmont area were entered and property was stolen from these vehicles. The owners report that identification, CD’s, cell phones, a skateboard and other items were removed from the vehicles.
