OPP LOOKING FOR WITNESSES

(Aweres Twp., ON) – Sunday afternoon at 12:29 pm two motorcycles were travelling northbound on Highway 17 in Aweres Township. The two were travelling together and missed the turn to Highway 556. The first motorcycle slowed down and pulled to the right on Highway 17. The second motorcycle failed to slow in time and collided with the rear of the first motorcycle.
The 43 year old driver of the second motorcycle suffered serious head injuries and was transported by hospital to Sault Area Hospital and then flown by air ambulance to Sudbury.The driver and passenger on the first motorcycle were not injured. Both motorcycles received major damage.
OPP are looking to speak with a male driver and female passenger of a small red car that was behind the motorcycles. The vehicle had flagged down an OPP officer to advise the officer of the accident but then continued east up Highway 556.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS - DRIVERS TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL
(Laird Twp., ON) - On Saturday, 25 September 2010 at 3:30 am a Pontiac Grand Am travelling eastbound on Highway 17 in Laird Township struck an elk crossing the roadway. The 23 year old male driver of the vehicle was transported to Matthews Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the vehicle was not injured. The vehicle received extensive damage and had to be towed.

(Garden River First Nation, ON) – On Saturday, 25 September 2010 at 11:45 pm OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17B. A Ford pick up truck travelling westbound crossed the eastbound lane and struck a street light pole. The 52 year old male driver suffered from a medical condition was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage and had to be towed. No charges have been laid.

LAPTOP STOLEN
(Vankoughnet Twp., ON) – On Sunday, 26 September 2010 a lap top was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Highway 552 East sometime during daylight hours.
