OPP investigate sudden death in Elliot Lake

Police say they were called to an establishment on Friday where the deceased was located

ELLIOT LAKE – East Algoma OPP say they're investigating a sudden death after responding to a call on Friday evening. 

A news release issued today by the OPP says that around 5:54 p.m. on Oct. 30, they, along with Algoma Paramedic Services, responded to a call of an unresponsive person at an establishment on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Police say a 34-year old-person was found dead at that location prior to emergency services arriving.

The cause of death is not known at this time.

The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

A post mortem-examination is expected to take place in Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 2.
