Police hope to identify the owner of a pickup truck that may have been travelling in the area of a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Jan. 20 near Bruce Mines.

All lanes of Highway 17 between Desbarats and Bruce Mines were closed following the crash and 36-year-old Alicia Faulkner of Sault Ste. Marie was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The pickup is believed to be a 2016 to 2018 red Chevrolet Silverado (possibly crew or double cab) with a black, red, and white snowmobile in the bed (possibly a Polaris Indy), says a news release issued by East Algoma OPP.

The driver of the vehicle in question is described as a stocky man wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt.

The OPP is also appealing for witnesses to the incident that may have dashcam footage of Highway 17 near Green Bay Road west of Bruce Mines around the time of the crash. Footage can be uploaded here. Those who stopped to assist at the scene are asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
