SNOWMACHINE BURNS ON RANGER LAKE

(Snow Twp., ON) – OPP received a call at 11:50 pm yesterday evening regarding a snow machine that was on Ranger Lake and on fire.

Investigation revealed that the owner of the 2000 Ski Doo had been up visiting friends at the lake and went for a ride across Ranger Lake with a passenger. The sled became bogged down and the snow machine stopped. When he re-started the snow machine there was a small explosion and the sled became engulfed in flames.

The owner and the passenger attempted to put out the fire with snow but the fire grew larger and there was a full tank of gas so they backed away and the sled was completely destroyed.

There were no injuries to either the driver or passenger. The snow machine is to be removed from the lake today.
