DRUG SEARCH WARRANT NETS $79,000 IN MARIHUANA

(Shawanaga First Nations Territory) – On September 15, 2011, members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit in partnership with the Anishinabek Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence located on Abetung Street in the First Nations Territory of Shawanaga.

As a result of this investigation an indoor cannabis marihuana growing operation was located. Fifteen marihuana plants, 3,200 grams of marihuana, ten rifles and $15,000 cash was seized. The potential street value of the marihuana seized is $79,000.

William HOMER, age 42, of Shawanaga First Nations Territory

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Careless Storage of a Firearm


William HOMER was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing set for September 16, 2011 in Parry Sound.
