FIVE BREAK AND ENTERS REPORTED (Kars Twp.ON) – Between Friday September 21, 2012 and Sunday September 22, 2012 five camps were reported broken into in Kars Township.

FIVE BREAK AND ENTERS REPORTED

(Kars Twp.ON) Between Friday September 21, 2012 and Sunday September 22, 2012 five camps were reported broken into in Kars Township. 

Three camps were entered in the Mission Road area along with a garage and a travel trailer and two camps were entered on James St. near Mission Road.

These break-in’s occurred within the past four days.

Entry was gained by damaging the rear and front doors of the camp.

The only items stolen were bottles of alcohol.

SINGLE MOTORCYCLE COLLISION

(Hodgins  Twp., ON) On Saturday, September 22nd at 5:30 pm Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 532 in Hodgins Township.

The forty-three year old female driver was travelling westbound on a Honda motorcycle when she lost control on wet pavement.

It was raining at the time.

The driver was transported to hospital by Sault Area Ambulance with non life- threatening injuries.

The motorcycle received minor damage.

No charges were laid.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) On Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 9:50 am OPP responded to a domestic dispute on the Batchewana First Nation.

A forty-one year old male and his spouse were engaged in a verbal argument when the male allegedly struck the thirty-five year old female victim several times on her body, face and head before dragging her up and down a set of stairs by her hair.

The accused then allegedly proceeded to choke the victim, threw her out a patio door and then threw a glass bowl at her.  He then dragged her back into the residence striking her numerous times in the head and face.

The assault was witnessed by several children in the residence.

The victim was transported to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance with serious facial injuries and was admitted to hospital.

The forty-one year old male was arrested and charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and one count of Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today at 10:00 am in Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Court.

LOST BOAT

(Laird Twp, ON) -  Sometime since Tuesday, September 18, 2012 a boat went missing from a dock in the 600 block of Finn’s Bay Road in Laird Township.

The boat was tied to the dock.

The boat is described as an older model 14 foot aluminum vessel with a 9.8 hp mercury motor attached.  The boat has a faded white hull with a light blue stripe around the top of the hull.
